Crisis Response Team Volunteers Needed

Open Opportunity

Safe Harbor is a nonprofit that provides shelter, supportive services and advocacy to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. We also provide education awareness and resources to our community. Volunteering at Safe harbor is an opportunity to build or develop your skill set while at the same time making a difference in your community. Our volunteers receive 40-hours of training!

During your time at Safe Harbor you will establish connections with our professional staff and many other committed volunteers, which help develop your connections in your community. Studies have shown that people who volunteer their time and services are happier than those who do not. Build a happier life and brighter future for yourself, your community and survivors of violence.

As a safe Harbor volunteer you will ensure services to women, children and men who are survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Your Services can help these individuals rebuild their lives. We are currently looking for volunteers to help with our Crisis Response Team. Volunteers on the Crisis Response Team, respond to sexual assaults occurring in Davis County. You will receive training and be allowed to shadow until you feel ready to take on a 6 hour shift once a week at your disposal. If a sexual assault happens to land on the time you are on call you will be expected to go to the call out and provide support. Crisis Response Team Members go to sexual assault examinations to provide, a follow up with one of our advocates who can them refer survivors to many resources such as therapy and courses/groups. You will also provide, emotional support during the exam, a set of basic clothing if a survivor needs to give up clothing items as evidence, a safe place to talk freely and ask questions that are completely confidential, empowerment throughout the entire exam, a crime victims reparations form to ensure the survivor does not have to pay out of pocket after being sexually assaulted and more.

If you feel this is something you would find rewarding, enjoy doing and would like to be a part of the solution please contact us.
