New Volunteer Orientation

If you are a dedicated individual who loves animals, the Humane Society of Washington County would love to have you as a volunteer!  Volunteers socialize with cats, walk dogs, help with the never-ending mounds of laundry, assist at off-site events, help facilitate adoptions and so much more!  

Please only sign up for orientation if you plan to attend.  If something comes up that you cannot attend, please remove yourself as soon as possible from the list so that someone else may claim that spot.  

We encourage sign-ups for orientation but walk-ins are also welcome.  If you sign up in advance, please provide your complete date of birth.

Once you sign up, a background check is performed before you will receive approval to attend.  We do take minor offenses, but we do not take items such as theft, assault, the selling of drugs, etc. All children under the age of 16 must have a parent or legal guardian sign up for the orientation as well and that adult will be responsible for volunteering with the minor until they are 16 years of age.  At that point, they can fly solo with us!
