Barry University ; SW 323 – SERVICE LEARNING AND SOCIAL WORK PRACTICE FALL 2022

Open Opportunity

About

This opportunity coincides with Barry University  course# SW 323's Service Learning requirement. SW 323 is a junior year course that provides students with an opportunity to develop an understanding of service learning. Service learning is an educational modality in which students engage with community agencies that serve vulnerable populations, including those who have been impacted by historical  trauma,  and  critically  reflect  on  these  civic  experiences  in  the  classroom. A strengths-based, ecological framework is the underlying theory which informs the connection between service and reflection. The central assignment for the course is to provide 45 service learning hours over the course semester.
