Volunteer Greeter will work out of our Brooklyn, NY Tax site. Volunteer will greet clients , assist in the filling out intake form, collect tax documents. Volunteer will then scan items collected to a Tax Preparer for processing. Volunteers will not have to prepare taxes or know tax laws. However, all volunteers must complete an IRS free online ethics course and exam.
•Commitment to agency goal to provide client –friendly and dignified support to help gain access to Tax preparation services
•Strong verbal communication skills
•Technologic skills for scanning documents and entering taxpayer’s data (use of laptop, portable scanner, and portable printer are required)
•Completion of the IRS Volunteer Standards of Conduct( free online course and exam).
Volunteers commit to working one 4 hr shift per week . Intake center(s) will be open from late January until early April.
