About

This workshop includes methods and techniques for safely planning and installing a park trail and is a half-day classroom workshop, with a post lunch two hour session for learning to use the field instruments; Sunday morning is a half-day with a trail project at Stephenson Nature Preserve.

Saturday 12/3:   Pleasant Hill Branch Library conference room  -

(10a.m. - 1p.m. classroom; then 2 - 4p.m. field instrumentation techniques) 

Following Sunday 12/11:  Stephenson Nature Preserve (9a.m. - 1p.m.) - Application of field techniques and trail repair.

Proper trail design and construction promote sustainable trails that maximize hiking aesthetics and minimize repair and erosion. Professional trail designers from S&S Trails Inc. will join us for a classroom session and a hands-on workday.
