About

This book group is offered to OHIO faculty and staff who are interested in a clear, straight-forward and brief guide for developing a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning project. Authors Cathy Bishop-Clark and Beth Dietz-Uhler describe how to create a SoTL project, its implications for promotion and tenure, and how it fosters:

  • Increased satisfaction and fulfillment in teaching
  • Improved student learning
  • Increased productivity of scholarly publication
  • Collaboration with colleagues across disciplines
  • Contributing to a growing and important body of literature

The book group will meet four times during the semester both in-person and virtually. It will be facilitated by Yuchun Zhou, Associate Professor in Educational Research and Evaluation, Education Studies, Patton College of Education, and Melinda Rhodes-DiSalvo, Executive Director, CTLA. Dr. Zhou will also be conducting a needs assessment for future faculty development on quantitative methodologies. The group is limited to 20 participants, and a copy of the book will be provided.

Registration will close Feb. 28, with meetings in March and April.

Event dates listed are only designed to indicate a spring semester offering. Book group registrants will be contacted by email to determine meeting days and times.
