The 2023 (Area 13) Basketball Competition will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the Jowers Center on Texas State University Campus located at Jowers Access Rd, San Marcos, TX 78666
AGE ELIGIBILITY FOR VOLUNTEERS:15 years and older can volunteer by themselves. 8-14 year olds must be accompanied by parent, guardian, or chaperone. If in a group, then there must be a 4:1 ratio of children/teens to adults. 7 years and younger are not given volunteer assignments but are welcomed and encouraged to be cheerleaders as long as they are accompanied by a parent, guardian, or chaperone.
APPAREL: Wear weather-appropriate athletic clothing and non-marking shoes. If you have one, wear a shirt that represents your organization. Most of our events are outdoors so we would encourage you to bring sunscreen, bug spray, bottled water (we will have re-fill stations), snacks, a hat, and anything else that will make your time more comfortable.
NO ANIMALS: Special Olympics has a no animal policy. Other than service animals, no animals are allowed at this event. Please do not bring any animals or pets with you. Most of our events are outdoors so we would encourage you to bring sunscreen, bug spray, bottled water (we will have re-fill stations), snacks, a hat, and anything else that will make your time more comfortable.
NOTE: Need a confirmation for the hours you volunteered? Be sure to let the Volunteer Coordinator at the time of check-in and then stop by the Volunteer Registration table before you leave to pick up your verification form.
