MLK Day Meals on Wheels Delivery

Last month, road conditions and rolling blackouts following a winter storm forced MIFA to cancel our meal deliveries to seniors on Christmas Day.

We still want our senior clients to receive this holiday meal and their dessert and gift bags, so we are delivering to 1,100 senior homebound clients on Monday, January 16th.

Please join us for this special volunteer opportunity! Over 120 volunteers will make this possible and we invite you to be one. You are delivering more than a meal- for many seniors, volunteers are their only contact. You are the sunshine in their day! MIFA needs volunteer drivers to deliver to 10 clients each. Routes are throughout the Memphis area and take about 1-2 hours. (Drivers must have a valid license and be willing to fill out an application with MIFA.)

Set up begins at 8:30 am, and meal delivery pickup begins at 9 am. Volunteers are encouraged to dress warmly and prepare for the weather as this will involve porch delivery.
