Street Works is a non-profit organization that reaches out to those in the community suffering from poverty, homelessness, and addiction. This organization provides high risk populations with HIV prevention information, sexual responsibility supplies and clean needles. Street Works also offers a wide array of long-term services including counseling, assistance with finding housing, medical case management, and treatment options. While volunteering at Street Works you will be expected to assist with any daily activities. This could include the needle exchange program, counseling on HIV prevention and treatment, and more. Attire is business casual, no white coat needed. The population being served is considered underserved as they are those in poverty, active addiction, and/or uninsured. These hours count for community, pharmacist, and underserved hours for PPD.
