Volunteer with Homework Club @ Salvation Army

The Salvation Army will be offers an afterschool Homework Club for youth residing at the shelter. Homework Club occurs Monday–Thursday throughout the school year from 2:30pm-6pm at The Salvation Army campus at 409 N Broadway, Knoxville, TN. The program operates with minimal staff which means that volunteers are greatly needed to aid in support and guidance of the youth. 

General schedule:

2:45-3:15pm: Youth arrive at Salvation Army

3:15-4:30pm: Reading, writing, homework

4:30-5:00pm: Dinner

5:00-6:00pm: Playground or gym time

This position does involve a background check and some training, so we are hopeful that volunteers will serve on a more regular basis. If interested, please register for the volunteer need- We will reach out with additional information and background check/training requirements.
