Open Opportunity
This event has been cancelled.

American YouthWorks' English Literacy/Civics program is seeking volunteers to work with adult literacy and English language students working on computer-based lessons and other English language activities.

If you have interest in Adult Education, Civics, Computer Literacy, Bilingualism, and Constructivist Education, we have a great opportunity for you to pursue your goals and interests. We'd love to have you here as a volunteer.

Volunteers will:

- Assist adults with basic computer skills
- Support computer literacy, including web navigation and email
- Guide students through a prepared electronic curriculum
- Have opportunities to pursue your goals and interest
-Facilitate activities using a number of provided materials - Inspire students to become self-motivated language learners.

You and other volunteers have the opportunity to engage with adult learners, share your passion for computers, education, bilingualism, or community outreach, and get to know a small group of students in the process each time you volunteer. You needn't be an expert in any of these fields.

Volunteer once or twice per week.
Monday through Thursday.
