Ligustrums, chinaberry, Nandina, and Chinese pistache don't belong in our parks and greenbelts, but they are all over the place. As they overwhelm the native plants, they squeeze out the nesting spaces, food sources, and resting places for many of our native fauna. We have a wide range of tasks you can do to help tip the balance back in favor of the natives—from scattering seeds to ripping small trees out of the ground.
Wear closed-toe shoes and long pants and dress for the weather. Bring water to drink.
|Perks||Learn about invasive plants and how you can help remove them from our parks. And that warm feeling you get from having done something good for your community.|
|Parking Details||If you cannot park in the lot at the trailhead, the lot across the road (by the blue picnic shelter) and the parking lot by the swimming pool are the next closest. There usually is plenty of room in the park for parking.|
