Description
Celebrate the 21st Annual Chicago Half Marathon & 5K with us. This year’s epic event traverses the streets around Hyde Park and the Museum of Science and Industry before winding on to traffic-free Lake Shore Drive. We couldn’t put on a world-class event like the Chicago Half Marathon without the help of our volunteers! 

*times might be slightly adjusted until 1 week prior to the race.
PerksNow is your chance to take part in welcoming all of the athletes that will be joining us for this amazing, world-class event. All volunteers will receive a Race Crew T-shirt and some light refreshments, depending on their location. All volunteers will also receive lots of thank yous for supporting the Chicago running community and our participants.

Expo Captains will be responsible for managing key areas at the Expo related to Packet Pickup, T-Shirts and Goody Bags, Bib Look-Up, Directional, and Info. Expo Captains are responsible for working with race staff to make sure everyone has the information and tools they need, making sure volunteers remain on task, and helping provide excellent customer service. Training and instructions will be available prior to the event.

Our first and foremost priority at all times during the race is athlete safety. As a Start Volunteer, you will work alongside the Start Line Staff in making sure each athlete has a safe experience. Duties include: lining up athletes up in the correct corals; releasing athletes onto the course and directing athlete traffic; keeping spectators clear of athlete area. After all athletes are let out onto the course you will head to the gear check tent to be ready to hand back the athletes gear after they complete the race.
