Isidore Newman School Sweep the Street Bayou St. John Cleanup

Welcome to the Sweep the Streets Cleanup!

Before the Event

Please make sure to register for this event! This step must happen before you attend the event. We are also asking organizers of the Isidore Newman Sweep the Street group to please make sure the volunteers have registered here on GivePulse. We are also asking that the students have their parents sign a form provided by City Park prior to the cleanup. Please print this form out, sign it, and bring it to the cleanup. We need this form in our hands before the cleanup. We will need at least 2 chaperones for the event, but more are welcome. A maximum of 5 volunteers will be needed. Chaperones will also need to register for this event.

Location & Time

We will meet at the intersection of Wisner Blvd and Filmore, near the North Course entrance of the City Park Golf Course.

My team has decided Wisner Blvd, along Harrison Avenue and Allen Toussaint Blvd will be the destination of the cleanup. Volunteers will be cleaning up from 9AM - 11AM. 

What to Bring & Transportation

Volunteers will bring their own water to the event. Reusable water bottles preferable. Gloves will be provided by Isidore Newman School. Volunteers will also need to have their own transportation to this volunteer event. 

What Pontchartrain Conservancy will provide

We will provide trash bags for you to use, and a map of the area that will be cleaned. We will also provide a way for you to log the trash you all clean up. 

Safety & Logging Cleanup Information

Our Outreach Coordinator, Tyler Thompson, will be at the event to go over safety procedures prior to the cleanup as well as show you how to input information into our Clean Swell App.

The App is compatible through the Google Play Store and the App Store. While you can do this step at the event, it will be better to have this App downloaded prior to the event.
