About

ScholarMatch supports first-generation college students from low-income backgrounds to earn a bachelor’s degree within five years. As a student-centered organization serving over 93% of teens of color, they are committed to seeking, prioritizing, and learning from potential volunteers who identify as first-generation college graduates, BIPOC, and/or LGBTQIA+. They provide virtual individualized advising, targeted financial support, and career mentoring all the way to graduation. In order to achieve this, they are recruiting new volunteers!

 

Volunteer Role: They are looking for college coaches for their 2023-24 college access program. You would help high school seniors through the college application process throughout the full year.

 

Deadline to Register: Friday, March 31st

 

Date and Time: The program is ongoing throughout 2023-24.

 

Location: Virtual

Requirement Details

Volunteers must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have completed a college degree
  • Pass a background check
  • Have a laptop

They highly encourage potential volunteers who identify as first-generation college graduates, BIPOC, and/or LGBTQIA+ to register.

 


 

Expectations:

Volunteers are expected to:

  • Be eager to mentor 1-3 high school seniors
  • Complete their five training modules
  • Be available 4-6 hours per month to support students
