About
Do you love sharing historical and cultural information with the public? Do you find faeries and folk lore fascinating? Do you love plants? This volunteer opportunity is for you!
This activity table will feature plants and plant specimens so it's important that the public have access to touch them, but that they do not eat the plants or take the plants away from the table. We need your help to share facts and information from our interpretive sheets with the public. You do not have to be an expert, we will teach you the details! The most important part of this role is to encourage people to read the information and to touch the plants without eating them. Also, it's important to encourage people to visit the garden to hear the presentation on Botanical Folklore happening in the Auditorium on May 27th from 12 pm - 1 pm.
Details on that talk here: Lindsay Loftin is the Culture & Arts Education Specialist at the Zilker Botanical Garden and this year’s Woodland Faerie Trail Coordinator. Lindsay is passionate about native and medicinal plants and the ethnobotany of indigenous cultures. She’s excited to share botanical lore of her heritage lands of Scotland, Ireland, and England, and other tales from around the world.
