Organization Mission

The mission of People’s Community Clinic is to improve the health of medically underserved and uninsured Central Texans by providing high quality, affordable health care with dignity and respect.

 

Position Purpose 

The Development Assistant Volunteer is a key member of the People’s Community Clinic development team. This position supports the maintenance of a strong cohort of supporters dedicated to furthering People’s mission. The ideal candidate will have great care and concern for healthcare and serving underserved and diverse communities. This candidate will also be outgoing and have the confidence to interact with a variety of people positively, comfortably and enthusiastically.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Work with the Development Department 
  • Assist the Development team in processing the daily development mail, and producing and mailing donor acknowledgement letters 
  • Assist with the planning and execution of fundraising events
  • Help to maintain department files and records, expense records for supplies, events and other purchases 
  • Assist with writing to donors and thanking donors for their donations

Training 

We provide online training materials as well as hands-on training to ensure you have the proper knowledge of our organization and the role. 

 

Qualifications

  • A creative, energetic team player with a good sense of humor; must be detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines, and have the ability to multi-task cheerfully in a high paced environment 
  • Experience with Windows operating system and MS Office, particularly Excel, Access, and Word
  • Confident in use of the phone and polite phone etiquette 
  •  Strong written communications abilities 
  • Flexibility to volunteer for some evenings and weekends for events

Commitment Required: Minimum of 2 shifts per week (2-hour shifts) for 12 months. The days and times below are the shift options for the role. Please ensure that you are available during the times listed.

Mondays 1 PM - 3 PM
Tuesdays 1 PM - 3 PM
Thursdays 1 PM - 3 PM
Fridays 1 PM - 3 PM
