About
The Bridge Shelter brings hope to the homeless by housing and supporting 30 individuals at a time to regain their independence and improve their lives. All community members can visit The Bridge Monday through Sunday for lunch and Monday through Friday for dinner, all served by volunteers. Weekend evening meals are served exclusively to the residents of the shelter program, and we are seeking a team of volunteers to cook and serve these meals consistently. We hope you'll join us in providing nutritious, hearty meals to our residents!
Volunteers will work as a team to prepare and serve meals to the 30 residents of the Bridge shelter. Food ingredients are packaged by employees, and volunteers will follow instructions to cook the food, serve the residents, and then clean up the community kitchen. Camaraderie and engaging in conversation with the residents, staff, and fellow volunteers are encouraged.
Volunteers should wear comfortable and appropriate casual attire with closed-toed, slip-resistant shoes (sneakers or other athletic shoes are fine). Volunteers under the age of 18 may participate but should be working alongside a parent, guardian, or chaperone through the length of the event.
