Shelby Farms Park Conservancy seeks to fill an Equestrian Summer Camp Internship positions for summer 2017. Shelby Farms Park and Greenline are managed and operated by the 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization Shelby Farms Park Conservancy. Our vision is to give rise to a celebrated 21st century park that defines and shapes a great city.
Position Title: Equestrian Summer Camp Intern
Position Starting and Ending Date: Summer 2017
Be an advanced equestrian with multiple years of riding experience
Previous equestrian camp experience or experience working with children
Be CPR certified or willing to obtain a CPR certification (SFPC will offer free certification)
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Availability of the entire weeks of May 25th – June 19th
Be a responsible team player
Strong oral communication skills
Ability to supervise children aged 8-13
Responsibilities will include:
Supervise SFPC Summer Equestrian Campers + respond to their needs
Assist in teaching daily short equestrian lessons
Work closely with the SFPC Equestrian Stables team and SFPC Events + Programs team
This is an unpaid position. Students can receive college credit through fulfilling university requirements.
This internship will take place from end of May to the beginning of August - exact schedules will be determined between intern and supervisor.
