Event Details
Join the Grow Green team at Zilker Botanical Garden to maintain the Green Garden! This opportunity is 18+ unless you are able to come in person to fill out a youth waiver with your parent/guardian.
Learn from experienced gardeners about native landscaping maintenance, and native/adapted plants for the Austin area.
This volunteer opportunity have a diverse range of tasks and could involve:
- Removing soil from a garden bed to prep the bed for replanting
- Planting
- Removing brush
- Mulching
- Weeding
- Pruning
- Maintenance of signage
Please arrive prepared to work outdoors wearing closed-toed shoes with a full water bottle, and a sun hat is recommended. We will provide gloves, but if you bring your own that's wonderful!
The garden gate opens at 9 am. When you arrive at the garden, show your GivePulse confirmation email to the gate staff at check-in to receive free admission for the day. Drive to volunteer parking and from volunteer parking, walk to the Green Garden just to the right of our main Garden Center building. Staff will meet you there and thank you for your support of the garden!
