Job Title: GWCA Intern

Intern Location: On-Site

Preferred Schedule: Mondays, Wednesdays 8-10am, 6-7pm on the last Monday of the month, 10am-12pm on the first Saturday of the month (5-6 hours a week total)

Position Description: Support neighborhoods grocery delivery initiatives on Wednesdays, assist with the neighborhood's clean-up efforts, and some weekly administrative needs. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Take part in weekly grocery deliveries in the Greenmount West neighborhood. Interns will have the option to either ride along with their supervisor to all delivery sites or participate in door-to-door delivery in Greenmount
  • Participate in trash pick-ups and beautification efforts in the neighborhood on the first Saturday of the month. Assist with planning efforts and documenting/reporting trash pile-up sites to the city government
  • Assist with a variety of operational needs as needed
  • General advertising of community events

Additional Opportunities:

  • Participate in community organizing trainings with BUILD (Metro IAF affiliate) related to food access and public health intersections

  • Any knowledge of Baltimore communities is a plus
