Title: Spooky Nights ‘Talent Intern’
Supervisor: Natalie Wilson, Senior manager of Events + Programs
Purpose: To support recruitment + management of the volunteer actors in Shelby Farms Park’s ‘Spooky Nights’
Requirements and Qualifications:
Experience with Microsoft office (excel, word, etc.)
Strong written communication skills
Theater major preferred
Driver’s license & personal vehicle
Ability to work weekends
Ability to recruit and motivate volunteers
Intermediate to advanced planning and organizational skills
Team Player with a positive attitude
Enjoys working with all types of people
Ability to work well under pressure + be flexible with change
Creative and Innovative
Hours of Position: Fall 2017; hours determined by school
Responsibilities:

Support the Spooky Nights Talent Manager on recruitment of volunteers to fill the needs of the event throughout the 10 evenings of the event

Organization of volunteer schedules for the event

Conceive and execute a plan for utilization of actors throughout the ‘haunted trail’ , nocturnal nature hike + hay ride component of the event

Support choreography + training of actors as well as wardrobe organization

Organize training workshops for actors involved in the event

Assist in securing community partnerships needed to launch Spooky Nights

Maintain organization of volunteer staff throughout each evening of the event to ensure safe + creative programming throughout the trail
- Support the development of a ‘Talent Manual’ to support organization of the event
This internship will take place from the middle of August to the middle of December - exact schedules will be determined between intern and supervisor.
