This will be a basics of coding workshop for girls in 9th-12th grade. You will teach the basics of HTML, CSS, and javascript using to build a website. Additionally, there will be a greater emphasis on how you got to where you are in tech / in your career, with time for Q&A for the girls, to give them a better idea of what is out there for them in STEM through college and / or work. There will be 20-30 girls in attendance. This workshop helps to fulfill 1 of 5 that CVF will do per an award we received from AT&T to involve high school girls in coding.

PLEASE NOTE: You must participate in a facilitator training webinar in order to facilitate this workshop. If you are interested in facilitating and have not participated in a training, please contact Megan Frohardt at megan(at)
Requirement Details
Please note, this opportunity requires that (1) you have extensive experience in coding / computer science (specifically HTML, CSS, javascript), and (2) you are female. The goal of this program is to inspire more girls to pursue futures in STEM. We do this by introducing them to coding and showing them that it is fun. We also do this by providing local female role models, which is why we're seeking only female facilitators. We are excited to have you as a volunteer!
