Equal Plates Project

Open Opportunity

About

Their mission is to connect WNC’s agricultural communities with our neighbors who need access to fresh, locally-grown, nutritious meals.

Southside Kitchen Volunteer Opportunities - 133 Livingston (the kitchen is on the backside of the Eddington Center by the community garden). Help to prepare and package scratch-made meals being served to students at local charter schools.  This kitchen prefers volunteers who are able to commit to a consistent volunteer schedule.

Volunteer shifts: 9-11:30
Days needed: Tuesday and Friday

Central United Methodist Church Kitchen - 27 Church Street (park in the top lot behind the church on Buncombe St. and ring the bell on the black gate).  Help process a variety of local vegetables and protein to be used in the preparation of scratch-made meals being distributed throughout our community to those with limited access to food.

Volunteer shifts: M: 1:30-4:00; T-F: 10-12:30; 1:30-4:00
