About
Welcome Alan to Zilker Botanical Garden's volunteer community!
This opportunity is for weekly pond cleanup work as directed in the ponds of the Taniguchi Garden on Thursday mornings. If you ever need to cut a workday short or miss a day, please just log your hours accordingly and check in with Lindsay Loftin, our Horticulture Volunteer Coordinator and your staff leader Spider DeVictoria.
Please bring a full water bottle, closed toed shoes, and anything else you need to work comfortably outside. We will train you on where to collect your gloves, waders, and any necessary tools/weeding buckets each week.
When you arrive at the garden, show your GivePulse confirmation email to the gate staff at check-in to receive free admission for the day. Once you're checked in, please park in our volunteer parking lot, which is down a dirt road from our regular parking lot, then walk to the Horticulture Volunteer Tool box to collect your needed gloves/tools. Spider DeVictoria and Lindsay Loftin will orient you to the garden facilities on your first day and you can always ask if you need additional support throughout. Once you're used to your tasks you can just come pick up supplies and get started.
Thank you for your support of the garden! We are so happy to have you here!
