Open Opportunity

Cape Verdean American Community Development (CACD), formerly known as the Cape Verdean American Community Development Center is a 501(c)3 non profit organization located in Pawtucket, RI. Founded in 1993 by ten Cape Verdean first generation  immigrants to connect, enrich and advance the Cape Verdean community Rhode Island and beyond.

In 2024 CACD is seeking to launch a capital campaign to acquire funding to support full-time staffing and enhanced programming. The organization currently has one part time staff member and 13 member board of directors.

CACD is seeking an experienced fundraiser to help the organization design (and perhaps execute) the initial elements of the campaign.

Support in the following areas is welcome:

  1. Advise CACD on a strategy for deploying board member and volunteer time and efforts to advance the capital campaign.

  2. Based on campaign goals, recommend a time-frame for each phase of the campaign (Planning phase, quiet phase, kick-off, public phase, follow-up).

  3. Support design of campaign feasibility study and help to refine the organization’s case for support.

  4. Recommend a system for tracking campaign progress.

Consulting opportunities typically require 2-10 hours of volunteer time over the course of an academic term (~14 weeks).
