Fighting Invasive Fridays in Kingsbury Commons

Friday, February 23rd, 2024 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm (CT)
This has ended. If you attended, let the organizer know by recording your Impact!

Thank you to PAYCOM Austin for helping us tackle invasive species like Linustrum and Catclaw and nonnative Hedge Parsley throughout Kingsbury Commons.

Help maintain a healthy ecosystem by removing species such as Bamboo, Nandina, Ligustrum, Chinese Privet, Catclaw, and Hedge Parlsey that crowd out native species without providing sustenance for the fauna that live in the park. By removing these plants from Pease Park's ecosystem we can replace them with native species that do provide beneficial ecosystem services.

Please wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty and bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated. We will provide all other necessary materials and will gather at the Volunteer Hub before heading to the Hillside.
