Sprout Fest '24

Saturday, March 2nd, 2024 from 10:00am to 12:00pm (CT)

Join us on the farm for Sprout Fest - our family-friendly kick-off event for Amplify Austin! We will have several stations around the farm for you to explore our mission and learn how you can support and stay engaged with Urban Roots.

What to Expect:

  • A youth-led tasting station where our high school interns will show off their culinary skills;
  • A scavenger hunt to familiarize you with our farm;
  • A hands-on pickling station with our friend, HanCan;
  • Sustainable arts and crafts activities to take home!

There will also be opportunities for seeding, transplanting and weeding to prepare our farm for the spring season! During the event, we invite you to sign up for a future volunteer day where you can help us harvest the food you will be planting!

We’ll have a sponsorship opportunity to “Adopt-a-Crop” where you will receive weekly updates on your veggies' progress. We’ll also help you set up an Amplify Fundraising Champion page that you can share with your friends and family to help us grow!

This event is completely free and open to all — whether it’s your first time on the farm or you already know the scoop and just want to enjoy some time with the Urban Roots family!

We look forward to seeing you on the farm, please wear comfortable shoes you don't mind getting a little dirty!

Parking Information:

We will have all guests park in a satellite lot at the beginning of Delwau Lane and will provide shuttle service from the satellite lot over to the farm. We will have signage and parking attendants present to assist with traffic flow:

  • As you turn off of US-183 North onto Alleyton Drive, you will make a quick left turn onto Howard Road. Our satellite lot will be located at the first bend in the road where Howard Road turns into Shelton Road.

We acknowledge that this solution is not a one size fits option for everyone and have prepared accommodations for those who may have wheels or need other arrangements. Please see the parking attendant if you need special arrangements and we will guide you to an alternate parking option.

We do want to highly encourage carpooling, biking, public transport, or ridesharing as much as possible to be more sustainable and alleviate traffic. If you are biking to the farm, we have an exit off of the Walnut Creek bike trail and have a bike rack located on the farm premises to store and lock up bikes.
