Thank you for your interest in serving with Guns to Gardens! Please scroll to read the volunteer descriptions and register for ONE volunteer role in which you are most interested. There will be an opportunity to learn more about specific volunteer tasks at our virtual orientation before the event and at the on-site training session right before the event. Volunteer roles may need to shift according to specific needs on the day of the event. Flexibility is the name of the game!

Requirement Details
  • On-site training before the event starts is required for both new and returning volunteers.
  • Volunteers working with guests and/or firearms must be age 18 or older.
  • Volunteers under age 18 must provide a permission slip signed by their parent or guardian via email (gunstogardensmetrodenver@gmail.com) OR printed and brought to the event.

These are the volunteers who are the first people to greet our guests when they drive into the parking lot. It's important we welcome them and guide them in the right direction. Volunteers ages 16-18 are encouraged to volunteer for this position.

2. Shepherd8:45am (MT)12:30pm (MT) Shepherds are grouped in pairs to walk with our guests throughout the entire process. People with the gift of hospitality, as well as clergy and mental health professionals, are encouraged to volunteer for this role. Shepherds will interact with many other volunteers. 3. Gun Disabler8:45am (MT)12:30pm (MT) You must have experience and a comfort level with operating power tools and be age 21 and up to volunteer for this team. These volunteers operate the chop saws that dismantle firearms. Training will be provided on-site. We can supply personal protective equipment (PPE) like safety glasses, gloves, and ear...16/12Over

These volunteers don’t actually run, but they help facilitate retrieving gift cards for each vehicle. Shepherd volunteers will give runners a completed survey and an envelope showing how much each vehicle is receiving in gift cards. Only runners are approved to be given gift cards.

These volunteers manage the gift card process. This is one of the volunteer opportunities that allows for sitting down inside during most of the event.

This team records serial numbers of firearms. They work closely with the safety team. This is one of our volunteer opportunities that allows for sitting down throughout most of the event.

7. Host Church Volunteer8:00am (MT)1:30pm (MT)

These volunteers must be members or staff of the hosting church. They will coordinate access to the building, any facility needs, and clergy will provide spiritual support.

This volunteer is the only person authorized to capture photo and video during the event.

This team consists of people checking firearms to ensure they are unloaded prior to being disabled on site. This volunteer slot is for those who are extremely experienced in handling firearms and have usually volunteered with Guns to Gardens before. Volunteers receive additional training for this role.

Support volunteers (members of the Guns to Gardens Metro Denver leadership team) monitor any needs volunteers or participants may have and step in where needed.
