About

The Red Line Parkway Initiative is pleased to participate in AAC Highland’s Earth Week Sustainability Fair on April 24. Volunteers are needed to chat with students and staff about the Parkway.

The goal of the Sustainability Fair is to diversify, educate, and activate the River Bat family on environmental issues a the local and global level, methods of waste reduction, and other important sustainable practices. We look forward to connecting with the ACC Highland community and helping them create a more environmentally active community in the process. The fair is a organized by ACC’s Office of Energy and Sustainability.

The Red Line Parkway Initiative is a non-profit organization dedicated to building a vibrant trail and linear park along the CapMetro Red Line, connecting Downtown Austin, Cedar Park, and Leander. Some sections, such as the one along Airport Blvd. directly in front of ACC Highland, are already open to the public and enjoyed by neighbors from all walks of life. Our goal is to unite partners and communities to plan, fund, build, and activate dedicated spaces for cyclists and pedestrians along the Parkway. This Parkway will provide car-free transportation options that are accessible to ALL members of the community, while fighting the effects of climate change.
