The Red Line Parkway Initiative will host a Transit Adventure to ACC Highland with AARP on Wednesday, May 29. Volunteers are needed to provide event assistance.

We will meet at M L King Jr. Station at 9:30am, ride the 10:02am CapMetro train to Highland Station, and meet arrivals using other transit options at Paris Baguette at 10:20. ACC’s Office of Community Engagement will lead an architectural tour of the campus and a visit to the student and faculty art galleries from 11am-1pm. We’ll have lunch together at the Brewtorium and then head back on the 2:44 train.

The Red Line Parkway Initiative is a non-profit organization dedicated to building a vibrant trail and linear park along the CapMetro Red Line, connecting Downtown Austin, Cedar Park, and Leander. Some sections, such as the one along Airport Blvd. directly in front of ACC Highland, are already open to the public and enjoyed by neighbors from all walks of life. Our goal is to unite partners and communities to plan, fund, build, and activate dedicated spaces for cyclists and pedestrians along the Parkway. This Parkway will provide car-free transportation options that are accessible to ALL members of the community, while fighting the effects of climate change.
