Come help us celebrate Earth Day! Mayor Lioneld Jordan will kick off the event at 9 a.m. with an Earth Day Proclamation, followed by our third annual litter cleanup along the Razorback Regional Greenway, and other Fayetteville trails and streams on Saturday, April 22nd! NOTE: The forecast shows intermittent rain. The event will still take place as long as there is no lightning, thunder or heavy rain at the start time.
Following the Mayor's proclamation, volunteers will be issued supplies, given a clean-up location, and cleanup instructions. Volunteer supplies will be provided by the City of Fayetteville, the Boston Mountain Solid Waste District, and the Washington County Cooperative Extension Office. Volunteers may arrive anytime between 9:00am and 11:00am to begin the cleanup.
Participants will be given packets of wildflower seeds to sprinkle or share. The wildflower mix will help build Monarch Butterfly habitat in the region. Bagels and T-shirts will also be available for volunteers.
