Description

The LAP (lethality assessment program) is a collaborative service with local law enforcement in which officers that are investigating a domestic violence situation contact the LAP advocate when a victim is assessed as being in a highly lethal relationship.  LAP advocates speak briefly with the victim offering shelter options, and other services as well as short-term safety planning. Instruction and training conducted by the Crisis Center staff is required. Each shift is 24 hours, and we ask that volunteers sign up for at least 3 shifts per month.  This position requires a cell phone (provided), which allows volunteers flexibility, however you MUST be able to answer the phone at any time and maintain confidentiality throughout the call.
