Description
"Juneteenth, also known as Juneteenth Independence Day or Freedom Day, is a holiday that commemorates the June 19, 1865 announcement of the abolition of slavery in Texas, and more generally the emancipation of African-American slaves throughout the Confederate South."

The Juneteenth Celebration at the Carver is an annual family friendly festival with entertainment, marketplace, educational activities, games, food, and community. The Carver Museum, Cultural and Genealogy Center is, dedicated to the collection, preservation, and exhibition of African American history and culture. It is a key resource for the Celebration of Juneteenth.

Are you interested in participating? We will need as many volunteers as possible.

Shifts will include:
9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

The event will be both indoors and outdoors.

Event Assignments will be in the following areas:
Set up.
Greeters.
Ushers.
Food Service.
Youth Activities.
Vendor Support.
Youth Entertainment Stage Assistance.
Adult Entertainment State Assistance.
Teen Activities.
Runners.
Clean-up.

Requirements
Must be over 13 years old.
PerksT-Shirt while supplies last. Wristband. Snacks and Refreshments.
Parking DetailsParking available off Angelina and Pennsylvania, North of the Main museum building.
