About

UBFM has been asked to guide visitors on the 2017 Cooper-Young Garden Walk (See description below).

During the Saturday shifts we will accompany visitors from house to house on bicycle, and watch their bikes when they're touring the gardens.

On Sunday, we will be helping with non-biking-related volunteer opportunities.

Two shifts are available on each day.

Every volunteer will receive free tickets to the Garden Walk for both Saturday and Sunday.

Contact Jake Fasano at 901 277-0288 with any questions.

Description:
Cooper-Young Garden Walk 2017 revels in gardens with personality. The limitations of small, urban gardens become the upsides of quaint, quirky, and imaginative gardens that fully utilize space and purpose. Visit gardens with chickens, beehives, raised beds, funky art, secluded patios, fountains, ponds, outdoor showers, she sheds, organic gardens, a Pagoda, and so much more. Visitors will discover creative solutions to deal with shade, tiny spaces, and privacy in urban gardens right in the heart of an historic, vibrant neighborhood of bungalows, Queen Anne, Second Empire, Craftsman, Colonial Revival, and Civil War-era cottages. With the gardens and eclectic business district in walking distance, visitors can easily stop for breakfast, lunch, dinner or shopping during their tours. Educational booths include: "Ask-A-Master Gardener", Urban Forestry, Dixon Museum, Memphis Botanic Gardens, Storm Water Dept., and paint finish demos by "me + mrs. jones". See you there!
