National Trails Day

Saturday, June 3rd, 2017 from 8:30am to 12:30pm (PT)

About

National Trails Day is held annually by organizations and agencies around the country to foster stewardship of trails and introduce people to volunteer trail work opportunities. The volunteer trails community around Reno/Tahoe is very strong and we have had a heck of a winter that has left many trails needing a little extra love this spring. So, we’re inviting the public to come join us and lend a hand in maintaining the popular Thomas and Whites Creek Trails in the Galena area. This is a joint trail work event sponsored by the Tahoe Area Mountain Biking Association, the Tahoe Rim Trail Association, and the Biggest Little Trail Stewardship. A burrito lunch, drinks and other snacks will be provided. Please wear long sleeves, long pants, and sturdy shoes and bring drinking water, work gloves, sunglasses and sunscreen. All tools provided. Hard hats provided, your own hard hat or bike helmet may be worn if you prefer. Pre-Registration is required at the event website listed under "Social" below, we are limited to 70 volunteers. Please select what crew you (and your friends/family) would like to be on based on the location and hiking distance. We reserve the right to modify the crew roster based on attendance and crew leader availability.
