Adult Education & Training at Workers Defense Project invites you to practice English with our students. The first hour is dedicated to introductions and "getting to know you" vocabulary; then, instructors pose relevant scenarios and ask students and volunteers to discuss these issues in English.
Ideally, each student will be paired with his/her own English Partner, so we are looking for 25 volunteers.
This function provides a degree of intimacy that we believe supports a secure learning environment. Please forward the attached flyer to people in your network, so that we can reach this goal! Other volunteer roles include Childcare, Welcome Table, and Set Up/Clean Up. Arrive at 5604 Manor Rd. at 6:30 PM for a brief orientation to Workers Defense Project and English Partner Night.
You do not need to be fluent in Spanish or have any special skills. We will hold a brief orientation at 6:30 PM in which we will tell you everything you need to know.
|Parking Details||There is a small parking lot and parking on the grass, so be sure to arrive early! Additionally, bus 20 stops right outside of the office.|
