|Interning with||The Swearer Center|
We are looking for a highly motivated intern with a strong interest in environmental justice and community organizing to join us for the summer and work primarily on two projects: planning our 25th anniversary celebration scheduled for the fall and completing a mini documentary/oral history project focused on our current lead safety education for refugees and the history of parent activism at the Childhood Lead Action Project. The internship will include ample opportunities for training and skills-building, exposure to a wide variety of organizational activities, a good balance between self-directed work and more closely monitored tasks, and consistent staff support provided by our Executive Director (weekly meetings, clear instructions, ongoing feedback). We are looking for one intern who will divide their time between both projects, detailed further below. We will trust you with important (and fun!) responsibilities that will directly support our mission to eliminate lead poisoning in Rhode Island.
