About

The Center for Student Engagement seeks student leaders to help with leading volunteer experiences for various student groups throughout the spring semester.

Student Community Liaisons play a crucial role in the Center for Student Engagement. Student Community Liaisons assist with:
  1. Communicating with university community partner organization and working with them to organize service opportunities for a university-recognized community partner organization
  2. Helping with recruitment on campus of student volunteers to participate
  3. Helping with day-of-event tasks such as check-in
  4. Joining the group of students at the volunteer activity and taking the lead, including being the first point of contact for the non-profit organization at the site, talking with student volunteers during the activity to keep them engaged, and leading a debrief discussion at the end of the activity
  5. Providing a list of who attended to the Center for Student Engagement so hours can be verified in GivePulse
Student Community Liaisons will be expected to:
  1. Attend a 2-hour training
  2. Work with the Center for Student Engagement and community partner organizations to help organize and lead 1-2 service projects per semester
  3. Attend a monthly meeting to discuss upcoming volunteer opportunities
  4. If possible, participate in additional Center for Student Engagement-organized service events such as Martin Luther King Day of Service
Student Community Liaisons are recognized at the Annual Civic Engagement Recognition Breakfast in April.
If interested, please sign up for this opportunity and we will contact you to meet and provide more information.
