Who will be the voice for a child in the foster care system? Who will be the person to speak on behalf of an abused and neglected child in the court system? Who will be the person to stand up for a child who cannot stand up for themselves? You can be! The Guilford County Guardian ad Litem Program is looking for volunteers to join us in the challenge of ensuring every child in the foster care system has a court-appointed volunteer advocate. No experience is necessary; free, intensive in-service training is provided; and consistent support and guidance from GAL staff is ongoing. GALs must be able to commit to a child for the duration of their court case (typically 18-24 months). Do you have what it takes? New GAL training starts in October! Call, email, or sign up now. www.volunteerforgal.org
