We the People: The Citizen and The Consitution - State Competition

Saturday, February 3rd, 2018 from 8:00am to 2:00pm (PT)

Nevada's We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution program is proud to be hosting their annual state competition at the University of Nevada, Reno!

In order for this event to be successful, we are in need of volunteers that will assist in escorting judges to their respective hearing rooms. This event will be held on the University of Nevada, Reno campus. Not only is this a fun way to learn about an amazing program, but it is a great networking opportunity for future educators, lawyers, politicians, and community leaders.

We cannot wait to see you there!

We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution is an instructional program on the principles of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights for elementary, middle, and high school students. The program goal is to promote understanding of the principles and values on which our political institutions are based.
Participating schools implement a curriculum that focuses on promoting citizenship education and increasing students' understanding of the rights and responsibilities of citizenship. Activities include simulated congressional hearings with community members as judges in which secondary student teams compete in simulated congressional hearings.
