Help install a new community yard garden in Montopolis Neighborhood, 78741. Volunteers will mulch and seed an entire front yard garden bed in preparation for community food production in the spring while learning about capturing rainwater and gray water in swales, sheet and "lasagna mulching" tecniques, and more. (If you live in the area and are also interested in ongoing participation, you can let us know at the event). Learn about Urban Patchwork's Community Farms at
Always bring a hat, gloves, long sleeves/pants, close-toed shoes, and a reusable water bottle.

Outdoor garden work is labor intensive. Participants with a known medical condition that is triggered by heat or sustained cardiovascular work will want to take precaution or consider a different project. If participants arrive with an injury that can worsen with use of tools like shovels, hammers, axes and wheelbarrows we ask that one of our coordinators is notified so we can provide a task that does not cause further injury.

Families welcome. Work will be outside and requires attention to safety when using tools. Families should be prepared to maintain safe oversight of young children at all times.
Parking DetailsOn street parking is available. The 350 and the 4 are good bus routes to connect to. Space is available to secure bikes.
