We'll hear more about Dr. Hollis' career, her work at WE ACT for Environmental Justice, and we'll discuss environmental health and justice issues more broadly. It's an EcoHour you won't want to miss!
Dr. Adrienne Lynette Hollis is the Director of Federal Policy at West Harlem Environmental Action, Inc. (WE ACT for Environmental Justice), in their Washington, DC office. WE ACT is a Northern Manhattan community-based organization whose mission is to build healthy communities by ensuring that people of color and/or low income participate meaningfully in the creation of sound and fair environmental health and protection policies and practices. She holds both a doctorate degree in biomedical sciences and focused in environmental toxicology and a law degree focused in environmental law. Dr. Hollis received her doctorate from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee and her law degree from Rutgers School of Law in Newark, New Jersey. She has extensive experience in the environmental arena, having worked on numerous environmental issues, beginning with her postdoctoral studies at the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, Massachusetts.
