Community Kitchen Volunteers prepare and serve lunch in Caritas' Community Kitchen to 350+ people Monday - Friday from 9am to 1:30pm. Our professional kitchen staff provides on-site training.
Groups: We can accommodate a group of up to 10 volunteers.

Age Requirement: Must be at least 12 years old to volunteer and all minors must be accompanied by an adult. For youth groups, we ask for 1 adult to accompany every 4 youth volunteers.

Dress Code: Volunteer in the Community Kitchen must be suitably attired. Jeans and t-shirts are fine. We require closed-toed shoes, no sandals or flip-flops. We realize that summers in Austin are hot, but our minimum clothing requirements dictate that shorts worn must be no more than three inches above the knee. No short shorts or tank tops are allowed and volunteers who come dressed unsuitably will be required to change clothes before volunteering in the Kitchen. Long hair must be secured away from food, tied up or back in a cap.
Parking DetailsThere is ample street parking around the Caritas building, as well as, pay lots across the street.
