The Bilingual Refugee Immigration Coach serves under the supervision and direction of an Immigration Attorney. After an assessment by an Immigration Attorney, a refugee meets with a Volunteer Immigration Coach. The Immigration Coach supports the refugee with one-on-one completion of documents needed for the on-going immigration process. These documents are submitted to the attorney for review and submission. The Immigration Coach reinforces the necessity of documents required to support the immigration process and the timelines expected of the refugee. The volunteer should always keep in mind that the ultimate goal is the self-sufficiency of the refugees.
