Inspiring Minds' mission is to create successful students by providing them with the appropriate academic and social supports. We support Providence Public Schools by connecting trained volunteers to struggling students to develop close connections through which young people discover who they are, gain skills to shape their own lives and learn how to interact and contribute to the world around them.

The In-school Tutoring and Mentoring program connects well-trained volunteers to struggling students in grades Pre-k to 5.  Our volunteers' tutor and mentor in one-on-one and small group sessions a minimum of one hour per week in a Providence elementary school.  Tutoring sessions occur in the child's classroom, during school hours (typically 9 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.)

Inspiring Minds views tutoring as the direct and clearly defined work to support the students' academic skill development and mentoring as the more indirect work aimed at cultivating caring positive relationships which will boost student confidence and promote academic achievement.
