Description
Start your year off strong by volunteering for the Chicago Half Marathon and Chicago Spring Half 10K! You will spend the day just steps away from Chicago’s Lake Michigan waterfront alongside the Chicago River helping runners accomplish their goals.
Requirements
The Chicago Spring Half Marathon and 10K is committed to being environmentally and socially sustainable. That includes striving to be an energy-efficient, zero-waste event and encouraging participation by all members of our community. To show our commitment, we are working with Athletes for a Fit Planet to earn certification to the Council for Responsible Sport sustainability standard.

Here are some of the things you can do to help make this a sustainable event:

- Every mile you drive produces about a pound of CO2. So we encourage Volunteers to carpool, use mass transit or ride your bike to the race to minimize our carbon footprint.
- Use the right bins when you throw away your trash.
- Bring your own reusable water bottle.
PerksAll Volunteers will receive a t-shirt when they arrive. Breakfast and lunch will be provided by Goose Island Catering.

If you are located on the course, your shirt, food, radio and credentials will be dropped directly to you. If Fluid Station Volunteers or Medical Volunteers are short any items, the Fluid Station Captain should radio Justin Larson, Assistant Volunteer Coordinator.

Fulfill volunteer time for school or community programs, meet a new friend or business contact, increase social and relationship skills, increase self-confidence, increase communication skills, increase managerial skills, sense of achievement, create new interests or hobbies, new experience, meet a diverse range of people, career experience directly related to the following areas: medical, event management, sports management, sports marketing, communication
