About

House of Neighborly Service has been providing opportunities that encourage, educate, and empower San Antonio's West Side for over 100 years. We have programs in Family Support, Child Development, Senior Health, and Food Security. Each year, we provide 1,000 neighbors the critical services they need for a better today and a brighter tomorrow.

Our basketball court/open-air event space was built in the 1960s. It is in serious need of some touching up! Volunteers will help us paint over graffiti, re-paint the court, paint our benches, and do general clean-up. We use this space to host events for our seniors and for activities with students of our Kid's Place Child Development and Treatment Center. This space also holds our weekly breadline - we distribute over 6,000 food boxes to our neighbors in need each year. Finally, we host community-wide events here that engage entire families. These events build community, provide tangible services, and make more neighbors aware of the programs we offer.

Your volunteer efforts will beautify a space that means a great deal to the families of the West Side. We are grateful!
