Description
The Chicago Half Marathon gives runners the chance to run on traffic restricted Lake Shore Drive! This scenic 13.1-mile course starts in Historic Jackson Park, site of the 1893 World Columbian Exposition, and winds through the beautiful Hyde Park neighborhood and University of Chicago campus. The course then takes runners along Chicago’s south Lake Shore Drive, taking in the views of Lake Michigan, Chicago skyline and the Science and Industry Museum campus before a triumphant finish at the golden Statue of the Republic.

*times might be slightly adjusted until 1 week prior to the race.
Requirements
The Chicago Spring Half Marathon and 10K is committed to being environmentally and socially sustainable. That includes striving to be an energy-efficient, zero-waste event and encouraging participation by all members of our community. To show our commitment, we are working with Athletes for a Fit Planet to earn certification to the Council for Responsible Sport sustainability standard.

Here are some of the things you can do to help make this a sustainable event:

- Every mile you drive produces about a pound of CO2. So we encourage Volunteers to carpool, use mass transit or ride your bike to the race to minimize our carbon footprint.
- Use the right bins when you throw away your trash.
- Bring your own reusable water bottle.
PerksNow is your chance to take part in welcoming all of the athletes that will be joining us for this amazing, world-class event. All volunteers will receive a Race Crew T-shirt and some light refreshments, depending on their location. All volunteers will also receive ton of thank yous for supporting the Chicago running community and our participants.
