About the event: This fall, we will be organizing our second major repair event for the Hands on Housing Program (for more information on this program, please see below). Twice a year, HoH gathers individuals from the community to help with vital repairs on Austin homes. Are you a group looking for a meaningful and tangible way to make a difference? This event allows you to work with diverse teams, all while helping fellow residents have a more dignified place to call home. Volunteer groups must have at least 10 individuals.
If you would like more information on how to sign up to help with this event, contact Deborah a email@example.com!
About Hands on Housing: iACT's Hands on Housing program exists to help seniors, disabled, and female head-of-households with vital home repairs. The majority of our clients (over 95%) are over age 65. Currently, 42% of elderly Austinites are living in poverty. Often, this financial constraint forces individuals to choose between important expenses such as food, medication, and home repairs. Hands on Housing helps these seniors make their homes more safe and accessible, so that they may remain in their homes--many of which they have owned for decades.
